I am a scientist at the HPCAT beamlines at the Advanced Photon Source, Argonne National Laboratory.
My background is in developing techniques and optical instruments for high pressure – high temperature experiments in the diamond anvil cell , which can then be used to study the electronic, chemical, and vibrational properties of compounds spanning minerals, binary semiconductors, and ceramics.
Most recently, I have studied pressure-induced electronic changes in ruthenium dioxide, the interplay of high-pressure phases in tin dioxide, and discrepancies in the P–V equations of state of palladium and rhodium.
