I am a scientist in the Nevada Extreme Conditions Laboratory at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
My background is in high pressure – high temperature experiments in the diamond anvil cell with a focus on the electronic, chemical, and vibrational properties of compounds spanning minerals, binary semiconductors, and ceramics, as well as the design of optical instruments to facilitate such experiments.
Most recently, I have studied the interplay of high-pressure phases in tin dioxide, discrepancies in the P–V equations of state of palladium and rhodium, and alkane-cracking properties of palladium under pressure.
