I am a recent PhD graduate from the UK, currently employed as a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where I work as a member of the Salamat Lab and the multidisciplinary High Pressure Science & Engineering Center.

My background is in experiments at high pressure and temperature in a diamond anvil cell — typically hundreds of thousands of atmospheres and up to thousands of degrees. At these conditions, it is possible to access unique chemical reactions or transitions into phases of matter which are otherwise unreachable. Such studies can reveal information relevant to chemistry, planetary science and fundamental physics.

Most recently, I have studied the giant volume collapse in manganese disulphide, the unique chemistry of the semiconductor tin nitride, and the structures of calcium carbonate at geologically-relevant conditions.
